A little care makes a beautiful difference. Follow the personalized written instructions provided at your appointment; the guide below covers the essentials.
Wash your hands before any aftercare. Keep the treated area clean using your artist’s cleansing instructions, and pat dry gently. Do not rub, scratch, pick flakes, or remove scabs. Use only the aftercare product recommended for your procedure, in the amount and at the times instructed.
While the skin is healing, avoid swimming, hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, soaking, heavy sweating, and direct sun. Keep makeup, exfoliants, retinoids, acids, and fragranced products off the treated area until healed. Do not use alcohol, peroxide, or unapproved ointments on the tattoo.
During the first 10–14 days, avoid soaking the brows, direct shower spray, heavy sweating, and steam. Gentle cleansing is different from soaking: follow your artist’s specific cleaning routine rather than leaving the area uncleaned.
Color may look darker initially, then lighter or patchy as the surface flakes. Let flakes release naturally. Do not judge the final color during this stage. Wait until the skin has healed and your artist has assessed the result before arranging a touch-up.
Clean gently as instructed and apply a thin layer of the recommended lip aftercare product. Avoid licking, biting, peeling, or exfoliating the lips. Keep lipstick and gloss off until healed. Avoid foods and drinks that sting, and do not expose healing lips to friction or contact with another person’s mouth.
Some early swelling, tenderness, dryness, and flaking can occur. Color softens as healing progresses. If you have ever had cold sores, discuss prevention with your prescribing clinician before treatment. Contact a clinician promptly if blisters develop.
Avoid rubbing the eyes and keep eye makeup, mascara, lash adhesive, and lash treatments away from the healing area. Wear glasses instead of contact lenses until your artist’s recommended interval has passed and your eyes feel normal. Do not apply creams, ointments, or drops unless specifically recommended for use around the eyes.
Mild early puffiness can occur. For significant or increasing swelling, eye pain, light sensitivity, discharge, or any change in vision, seek prompt medical assessment rather than waiting for a studio reply.
Healing and pigment retention vary with skin, technique, lifestyle, and aftercare. Surface healing and final color settling are different stages; allow several weeks before evaluating the result. Your follow-up timing will be personalized. Additional sessions may be needed, especially for corrections or lip neutralization.
Once the skin is completely healed, protect exposed tattooed skin with broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher. Keep sunscreen out of the eyes. Avoid tanning beds and discuss peels, lasers, and strong skincare near your permanent makeup with your provider.
Increasing redness, warmth, pain, swelling, pus, fever, or a spreading rash need medical assessment. Seek urgent care for eye pain or vision changes, and emergency help for breathing difficulty or rapidly worsening facial swelling. For routine healing questions, contact Cinnamon Studio.
Clear communication, thoughtful preparation, and time dedicated to you.
If you have existing permanent makeup, send clear, unfiltered photographs before booking, even if it looks faded. A consultation is needed to assess whether correction, a new treatment, or removal elsewhere is appropriate. Please wait for approval before reserving a correction appointment.
Please request cancellations or schedule changes at least 48 hours in advance whenever possible. If you feel unwell or develop an active skin or eye infection, contact us before coming in. Arrive on time and allow for traffic. If you are more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled so there is enough time to complete the service carefully.
Any booking deposit, payment schedule, cancellation charge, or transfer conditions will be explained and agreed to before payment. Please message us if you are unsure about the terms of your appointment.
Clients must be 18 or older and bring valid photo identification. Complete the medical history and consent forms honestly, and disclose allergies, medications, skin conditions, recent cosmetic treatments, and relevant health changes.
Contact us before booking if pregnant or breastfeeding, receiving cancer treatment, taking blood thinners or isotretinoin, or managing a condition that affects healing. Treatment may need to be postponed or reviewed with your clinician. Never stop a prescribed medication to prepare for permanent makeup without your prescriber’s guidance.
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before treatment. Eat beforehand and arrive with clean skin. Let us know about recent fillers, injections, peels, laser treatments, lash extensions, or eye procedures so we can discuss appropriate timing. If you have a cold sore history, arrange a prevention discussion with your clinician before lip blush.
Please arrange childcare for your appointment. Let us know beforehand if you need a support person or an accessibility accommodation so we can prepare for your visit.
We discuss your goals, shape, and color before starting. Ask questions and approve the proposed design before pigment is applied. Permanent makeup is a cosmetic tattoo; fading, retention, symmetry, and healed color vary, and a specific result cannot be guaranteed.
Touch-up recommendations and pricing are discussed individually; a follow-up is not automatically included unless your booking states otherwise. Permission to use identifiable photographs for marketing is requested separately from treatment consent.
